The Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur has today virtually inaugurated three Masters level programs in online mode in line with the National Education Policy Framework 2020. The programs include Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), a Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF) and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM).
A total of more than 8000 applications were received for the XLRI e-learning programs, out of which more than 3000 applications were shortlisted and only 110 students secured their place in the program. Each program will start within a week of the immersion program at XLRI Campus, Jamshedpur, followed by another week of campus visits during the second year.

The virtual inauguration ceremony also saw the active participation of the 110 students from the first batch of XOL programs – PGDBM with 60 students, PGDHRM with 26 students and PGDF with 22 students respectively.
The program began with a prayer song by XLRI staff members, followed by a short prayer and virtual candle lighting by Fr. Donald D’Silva SJ, Dean – Administration and Finance. The event was attended by Fr. Paul Fernandes SJ, Director, XLRI, Fr. Donald D’Silva SJ, Dean – Administration and Finance, Prof. AK Pani, Dean – Academics, Prof. Sanjay Patro, Chair of XOL Programs, and all other staff and faculty. from XLRI.
The crowd was then addressed by Father Paul, director of XLRI. He welcomed the students and said, “Congratulations on taking the next step and joining the XLRI Learning Programs. With advanced technology and accessibility to online platforms, we can reach out, connect and share ideas with our community. Together we can help each other grow in good spirit and we will support you every step of the way at XLRI. We’ll help you grow as a global thinker, contributor, changemaker and responsible leader. We look forward to a value-based transformation and a great learning experience. »

Professor Sanjay Patro, Chair of XLRI-XOL Programmes, addressed the students and said, “Online postgraduate degree programs aim to bridge the gap between the aspirations of participants and the requirements of qualified professionals; suitable for industry. You will be involved in synchronous and asynchronous learning and have the opportunity to learn from top and experienced XLRI teachers as well as industry experts and peers in an interactive online platform.
