Keystone Kidspace to provide a hands-on learning environment, encourages children to come as they are

Keystone Kidspace will be one of many organizations to benefit from Give Local York on May 7th.

YORK, Pa .– Give Local York kicks off in less than 24 hours at midnight on May 7.

The county’s biggest giving day will benefit hundreds of county organizations, like Keystone Kidspace, whose mission is to provide a safe space for families to enjoy science, technology and arts activities.

“Keystone Kidspace will be a very dynamic, hands-on learning environment for children and families,” said Jessica Brubaker, CEO of Kesytone Kidspace.

From woodworking to science labs to cooking projects, there will be something for all kids. The organization will encourage the children to come as they are, to share their ideas and to disorganize themselves to make them real.

“We really thought it was important to create a neutral community environment where all children across the county could access very high quality enrichment opportunities,” said Brubaker. “And to have a place where they could find their people, find what really turned them on, what really turned them on.”

Keystone Kidspace hopes to open once the renovations are complete and everyone can safely enjoy the space.

“This fund will go specifically to all of the really important tools, equipment and program components that will be needed to bring the experience here to life,” said Brubaker. “We spent the last year remodeling the building. Now we need all the fun stuff.”
