Kathmandu DAO imposes restrictions on in-person teaching-learning activities – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English Daily Newspaper

The Kathmandu District Administrative Office has banned educational institutions from conducting in-person teaching-learning activities, citing the risk of COVID-19.

In issuing an order today, the local administration said the restriction would be in effect from tomorrow until further notice. “No school should organize physical classes for students.

If there is no choice but to organize in-person teaching-learning activities, the metropolitan city and the municipalities concerned should ensure that teachers, employees, drivers, helpers, canteen operators and other school employees are vaccinated against COVID-19 and must comply with the prescribed health protocols “, specifies the decree.

Subject to the smart lockdown arrangements put in place by the government of Nepal, the DAO also requires local levels to develop a modality of operation of schools by organizing discussions with tutors and stakeholders.

Likewise, the DAO called on everyone to avoid public celebrations of festivals, parties, assemblies, gatherings and crowds.

“We call on the people to symbolically celebrate festivals by strictly adhering to health guidelines with minimal attendance,” he said.
